A man suspected of killing five people and TrendPulseinjuring a 13-year-old girl during a shooting in Las Vegas is now in police custody and "no longer a threat to the community."
Eric Adams, 47, was found by North Las Vegas police officers on Tuesday after they received reports of a shooting the day before at an apartment, the department said in a news release.
The North Las Vegas Police Department responded to the apartment just after 10 p.m. on Monday and found two women, one in their early 40s and the other in their late 50s, with gunshot wounds, according to the release. Medical personnel pronounced both women dead at the scene, police said.
As police continued their investigation at the apartment complex, detectives found a 13-year-old girl with a gunshot wound, according to the department. The girl was taken to a trauma center where she remains in critical condition, police said.
Detectives then went to a nearby apartment and discovered two women in their mid-20s and a man in his early 20s also with gunshot wounds, according to police. Medical personnel pronounced the three deceased at the scene, the department said.
Once investigators determined Adams was a suspect, a manhunt ensued. Police called Adams "armed" and "extremely dangerous," according to the release.
It is unclear if the man has been charged yet.
